We are checking how to install a ZF 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission in our Jaguar E-Type restomod. This update looks at whether it fits in the car, including its connection to the 2JZ engine.
Checking the connection to the 2JZ and fitment in the body
At the time this video was posted, there appeared to be no major issues with physical fitment, including the connection to the 2JZ engine. With the basic fit looking feasible, the next stage is to examine routing and other details.
Our goal is a 2JZ-powered E-Type with an eight-speed automatic and paddle shifters. Following the initial fitment check, we will continue verifying each part of the installation.
